Having spent time working in a top restaurant in between France and Spain in the Pyrenees mountains, Nik Boyle returned to the UK to work for the prestigious ‘hotel du vin’ from that you can see that Nik’s food is most definitely based upon classical and regional French Cooking. Nik favours simply plated but immaculately prepared food, so naturally at the restaurant you will find old fashioned braises, confits and daubes alongside delicious offal preparations. Lighter, simply grilled fish and meat alternatives are also on the menu.
Desserts for Nik are the grand finale to your meal. With pastry chef Richard Pizey at the helm, you will find lighter modern versions of good old classic British desserts in abundance.
The cheese board is taken very seriously at Gaudis and it forms an integral part of daily life at the restaurant.

Further Details
| Nik Boyle grew up in the sleepy fishing village of Pothleven in South West Cornwall.
Naturally he has a deep passion for Cornish flavours, Nik grows and sources all Cornish produce, he prides himself on not sending and cheques out of of the County.
Nik says he would more readily look towards the works of Elizabeth David, Jane Grigson, Richard Olney and Larousse for inspiration, than the most fashionable uber Chef on Saturday night TV.
The welcome at Gaudi's is warm and inviting and guests are made to feel at home with its easy going staff and open kitchen. Light contemporary styled cuisine with simple modern presentation marries well with the bright modern interior full of artwork and great lighting. A nice change from some of the larger restaurants that have you screaming your order, with a sedate 28 seats the atmosphere is cozy and the space itself serene. A worthy contender to an ever increasing plethora of city dining options.
